Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Cloakd ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.

2. Description of Service

Cloakd provides AI-powered writing tools including text humanization, AI content detection, plagiarism checking, AI image detection, fact checking, writing feedback, and text summarization. The Service is provided "as is" and results are generated by artificial intelligence, which may not always be accurate.

3. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address and create a password to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Cloakd to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Submit content that infringes on intellectual property rights
• Engage in academic dishonesty in violation of your institution's policies
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or abuse the Service
• Circumvent usage limits or rate limiting
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

5. Plans and Billing

Cloakd offers Free, Pro, and Ultimate plans. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months.

Usage limits (words processed, image scans) reset at the beginning of each billing cycle. Unused allowances do not roll over.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all content you submit to Cloakd. We claim no rights over your input or output content.

The Cloakd name, logo, and all associated branding, design, and code are the property of Cloakd and may not be copied or used without permission.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• AI detection scores are 100% accurate
• Humanized text will be undetectable by all systems
• Plagiarism checks are exhaustive against all sources
• Fact-checking results are complete or infallible

You are solely responsible for how you use the output generated by our tools.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cloakd and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any conduct that we determine is harmful to the Service or other users. You may delete your account at any time.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
